The Schwabia are a genus of unicellular , wired amoebas and belong to the family of Difflugiidae . The four species are found in freshwater and forest floors.
features
The housing of the representatives of the Schwabia is elongated oval to ovoid, circular in cross section. It consists of a chitinous putty in which small mineral particles are integrated. The surface of the case is smooth. The small mouth opening is at the end.
ecology
Schwabia live either in fresh waters or (with Schwabia terricola ) in alkaline forest soils.

The genus was first described in 1942 , the type species is Schwabia irregularis . The genus includes four species:
