The black- legged bristle weevil ( Gymnetron stimulosum ) is a beetle from the family of weevils (Curculionidae).
features
The beetles are 1.5 to 2.3 millimeters long. Your body is black. They have an elongated oval shape. The antennae, with the exception of the antennae flagella, and the basal end of the tibia are reddish in color. The pronotum and elytra have protruding white to gray-brown hairs. There are three reddish-brown longitudinal spots on the fall of the wing-coverts, which unite at the tip.
distribution
The distribution area of the beetle species extends over Central and Western Europe. It extends in the east to the Caucasus .
Way of life
The beetles are particularly observed in June and July. Individual sightings extend into the second half of October. The host plants of the beetle species are the field speedwell ( Veronica arvensis ) and the three-part speedwell ( Veronica triphyllos ).
