history
The building was constructed by Johann Dümlein in 1768/69. In 1896 a three-storey round tower with an onion hood was added to the south side of the house . Shortly before the end of the Second World War in Europe, the city of Kronach was captured and occupied by American troops on the afternoon of April 12, 1945. This was preceded by several hours of artillery bombardment in which several buildings were completely destroyed or severely damaged. This also included the Schwedenstrasse 1 building, which caught fire in the bombardment and burned out completely. In 1948 the house was restored with the original facade, but without the tower, which was also badly damaged.
