Pig's head

The pig's head is a ring wall system from prehistoric times on the ridge of the same name. The conical mountain stump is located north of the town of Brochterbeck , Steinfurt district , in the Tecklenburger Land. The ground monument was erected on the slopes of the northern Teutoburg Forest , within today's nature reserve of the Dörenther Klippen .

C14 examinations of ash residues allow the conclusion that the facility was built in the late Early or Early Middle Bronze Age (2000–1600 BC). In addition, flint tools from a much older time have been found.
