tasks

The Swiss Paraplegic Group has a network of services for people with spinal cord injuries - from first aid to the end of life. The aim is holistic rehabilitation and the return of those affected to their families, work and society. The Swiss Paraplegic Foundation supports institutions such as the Swiss Paraplegic Center , Swiss Paraplegic Research, the Institute for Rescue Medicine (SIRMED), Orthotec, and ParaHelp. The foundation promotes the interests of the Swiss Paraplegic Association , the umbrella organization of the 27 regional wheelchair clubs in Switzerland. The foundation provides direct aid contributions for the conversion of vehicles, barrier-free living space and workplaces, for training and further education, aids, and pays uncovered hospital and care costs related to treatments in the Swiss Paraplegic Center. The foundation supports institutions that advocate the interests of people with spinal cord injury. Members of the patrons' association of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation receive patronage support in the event of an accident-related spinal cord injury with permanent wheelchair dependency.

Swiss paraplegic group

The Swiss Paraplegic Group (SPG) is a service network for the holistic rehabilitation of people with spinal cord injury - starting at the scene of the accident or when diagnosed as a result of illness, for a lifetime. The SPG covers four service areas: Solidarity (Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, Patrons' Association, Hotel Sempachersee), Medicine (Swiss Paraplegic Center, ParaHelp, Sirmed), Research (Swiss Paraplegic Research, IAT), and integration and lifelong support (Swiss Paraplegic Association, Orthotec, Active Communication). In order to fulfill the core mission, over 1,400 professionals and specialists from various areas and disciplines work closely together. The Swiss Paraplegic Group (SPG) includes a foundation, two partner organizations and seven stock corporations wholly owned by the SPS. These ten units, legally independent, form a tightly knit, globally unique service network for the holistic rehabilitation of people with paraplegia.
