Bruno Frick (born May 31, 1953 in Wittenbach ; resident in Oberbüren ) is a former Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Education, job, family

Bruno Frick graduated from the Abbey School in Einsiedeln in 1973 and then studied law at the University of Zurich , lic. iur. (1978). He has been admitted to the bar since 1981 .

Frick is the owner of the Einsiedeln notary's office and a partner in the Roesle Frick & Partner law firm in Pfäffikon SZ . He is a lecturer at the University of Zurich. In addition to other mandates in companies, foundations and organizations, Frick is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Radios Central and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Financial Market Authority (Finma) since 2013 . Until 2013 Frick was a member of the board of economiesuisse .

From 2007 to 2009, Frick presided over the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation as successor to the founder Guido A. Zäch .

Bruno Frick is a member of the Alumni Scholae Einsidlensis . He is divorced and has one child.

politics

From 1988 to 1991 Frick was a cantonal councilor in the canton of Schwyz . From 1991 to 2011 he was a member of the Council of States, which he also presided over in 2004/05 . On November 27, 2011, he missed re-election in the second ballot and subsequently resigned from the Council of States. His seat went to Peter Föhn (SVP).

In addition to his public offices, Frick also held various party offices. From 2004 to 2008 he was Vice President of CVP Switzerland.

Due to the accumulation of offices, high salaries and questionable mandates, Frick repeatedly exposes himself to negative criticism of himself.
