Ulrich F. Zwygart

Ulrich F. Zwygart (* 1953 ) is a Swiss lawyer and officer ( retired division officer ). He is honorary professor for general management at the University of St. Gallen .

Life

From 1973 to 1979 he studied law at the University of Bern and in 1982 with the thesis The overall defense concept with particular emphasis on strategic cases for doctor of law doctorate. He worked as a lawyer from 1980 to 1985 .

Zwygart served from 1985 to 2007 as a professional soldier in the tank grenadiers of the Swiss Army . In 1992/93 he was at Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, where he received the Eisenhower Award for best graduate . Other uses followed u. a. as the commander of a tank brigade. In 1999 he was promoted to brigadier and in 2001 to division general. From 2001 to 2004 he was an inspector of the combat troops. Most recently, from 2004 to 2007, he was in command of the Army Higher Cadre Training (HKA).

From 2008 to 2012 he was Managing Director of Global Head Training and Communications at Deutsche Bank AG in London and from 2013 to 2014 he was Chief Learning Officer at Zurich Insurance Group . Zwygart is Honorary Professor for General Management at the Executive School for Management, Technology and Law at the University of St. Gallen . His main research interests are legal management as well as management and leadership theory . He is the author of numerous management books and articles and received a. a. the "Swiss Economics Books Award 2007". He is also a member of the Board of the Institute of Business Law at the University of Lucerne and the Advisory Board of the School of Business at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland .

Zwygart is married and has one son and two daughters.
