The Sisters of Bethany of the Sacred Heart ( it . : Suore di Betania del Sacro Cuore , fr . : Soers de Béthanie du Sacré-Coeur ) is a contemplative women's congregation.

history

The institute was founded by the mystic of the Heart of Jesus , Louise-Marguerite Claret de la Touche , as an apostolic work for the sanctification of priests . On March 19, 1914, Louise-Marguerite Claret de la Touche founded the Order of the Visitation of the Sacred Heart in Vische near Turin, which on April 24, 1918 was named Betania del Sacro Cuore (English: Bethany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus). The aim was to offer oneself for the sanctification of the Church and the priests.

Marguerite Reynaud became the first matron. At the request of the founder, a branch for lay people was established on February 26, 1917, which the Bishop of Ivrea , Matteo Filippello, approved. On December 8th, 1848 the secular institute Missionarie dell'Amore Infinito ( Eng .: Missionaries of Infinite Love) was founded.

There is also another foundation for lay people, which was established at the request of the founder on February 26, 1917 with the approval of Matteo Filippello, Bishop of Ivrea , the Amici e Amiche di Betania (Friends of Bethany), which was founded on February 24 , 1917 . May 1984 the diocesan status of Luigi Bettazzi , Bishop of Ivrea was bestowed.
