Scleroprocta sororcula is a mosquito from the family of wilts (Limoniidae).

features

The mosquito reaches a body length of 6 to 8 millimeters and has a completely dark gray, slim body. The grayish wings are densely hairy and have a pale, elongated wing mark ( pterostigma ). Four wing cells extend to the rear edge of the wing. The cross-artery R-sc lies clearly in front of the radius branches.

Way of life and distribution

The animals are found in large parts of Europe, but they are absent in the Balkans and the Iberian Peninsula. They colonize bogs, swamp forests and damp forests. They are not uncommon in Central Europe.
