The Scoresby Point is a headland in the southeast of South Georgia . It forms the south side of the entrance to Williams Cove in Larsen Harbor .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations probably named the headland after the research vessel William Scoresby during survey work in 1927 . It appears under this name for the first time on a nautical chart of the British Admiralty from 1930.
