Scorpion (robot)
The Scorpion is a biomimetic , eight-legged walking robot built in collaboration between the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence Bremen and the University of Bremen .
The robot imitates the walking behavior of living scorpions and thus achieves great flexibility in difficult terrain.
There are currently two copies of the robot, one at DFKI Bremen and one at NASA Ames Research Center , where the suitability of the system for extraterrestrial expeditions is being investigated.
