Scott McClellan
Scott McClellan (born February 14, 1968 in Austin , Texas ) is the former press secretary of US President George W. Bush . He succeeded Ari Fleischer in July 2003 and was replaced by Tony Snow on April 26, 2006 .
Life
McClellan is the youngest son of Texas politician Carole Keeton Strayhorn and attorney Barr McClellan . After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin , where he was president of Sigma Phi Epsilon Texas Alpha Chapter, McClellan was his mother's campaign manager three times. In addition, he served as Chief of Staff to a member of the Texas State Senate. In May 2008 the book What Happened was published , in which he strongly attacks President Bush and his administration. Afterwards, he not only confirms the deception with which the president started the Iraq war, but also that Vice President Dick Cheney steered the president with his own decisions and not the other way around. In October 2008, he declared his support for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama .
