The Scott Mountains are a vast mountain range in the East Antarctic Enderbyland , which consists of numerous isolated mountain peaks south of Amundsen Bay .

Participants in the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929–1931), led by the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson, discovered it on January 13, 1930. Mawson named the formation Scott Range after the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott (1868–1912) . The oronym was later adapted to the size of the geographical object.
