Scream Silence is a German dark rock - band from Berlin , founded 1998th

Band history

The first album To Die For was named album of the month by music magazine Orkus in 1999. The success of the first album made Scream Silence able to go on tour with bands like Christian Death and Dreadful Shadows .

In 2001 the album The 2nd followed . During the following tour the band also played at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen . In 2002 bassist Rene Schulze and guitarist Joerg Rennewald left the band and were replaced by Robert Klausch and Cornel Otto.

Seven Tears appeared in 2003 without a major promotion and received excellent reviews from well-known music magazines. The music magazine Zillo named it album of the month.

At the Autumn Nights Festival at Rabenstein Castle , Scream Silence played together with Adam Pearson, the guitarist of The Sisters of Mercy . In spring 2004 they founded their own record label Plainsong Records .

The album Elegy was released at the end of October 2004.

With René Gödde's entry as the second live guitarist, the music became much more guitar-oriented and his influences came to the fore on Saviourine . For the first time, the band recorded increasing album sales in Eastern Europe. This also applied to Aphelia , which appeared the following year , on which the band presented themselves more darkly and introverted.

Apathology was published at the end of November 2008 and, contrary to its title, sounds quite lively.

At the beginning of 2011, drummer Heiko Wolf decided to leave the band for personal reasons. The band regretted his departure, but found a new man on the drums in Nestor de Valley.

After appearances at the M'era Luna Festival , the Blackfield Festival and a European tour with the Norwegian band Zeromancer , it was almost four years before Scream Silence returned in 2012 with their eighth self-titled album under the new label Out of Line .

Scream Silence appeared in 2012 as a support act for the Staubkind tour .

Her ninth album Heartburnt was released in June 2015, financed by a crowdfunding campaign and produced again under her own label (Plainsong Records). In July 2015 the album reached number 1 in the German Alternative Charts .
