Staubkind is a Berlin pop rock band founded in 2004 .

history

The singer and guitarist Louis Manke ( vocals ) from Dresden founded the Staubkind project in 2004. In the same year, the first single Kein Sonne and the debut album Traumfänger were released on the Berlin independent label Fear Section by singer and musician Chris Pohl . The group officially performed for the first time on January 31, 2004. On April 3, 2004 the band played their first appearance in the opening act of the group Unheilig in the summer casino in Basel . The band had their first big festival appearance at the 13th Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig . In autumn 2004 he went on his own tour in Germany, which lasted until 2005. On January 31, 2005, the debut Traumfänger was re-released with remixes and the new bonus track Much More . Dustkind shot the first music video for the new song Much More . On October 1, 2005, Staubkind released three new songs and two live recorded pieces as an EP under the title Ausgebrannt . In 2005 and 2006 the group toured Germany live and performed again at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig and at the M'era Luna Festival in Hildesheim . In October 2007 the second album Too Far was released . With this album the band went on tour in Germany for two more years until 2009, including further appearances at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen. Meanwhile, Staubkind has been invited by Unheilig for the Unheilig & Friends concert series . Further tours followed in the following years.

Louis Manke changed the band's contractual partner in 2012 and signed with the Out of Line label . The singles Kannst du seh'n seh'n und So nah bei mir appeared there on February 24th and June 15th, 2012 . Music videos were released for both pre-singles. The third self-titled album followed on June 29, 2012, which was created in collaboration with Unheilig producer Henning Verlage in the Principal Studios in Senden. The album reached number 37 in the German album charts, stayed there for nine weeks and also entered the album charts in Austria (number 57) and Switzerland (number 87). In the summer of 2012, Staubkind played in the opening act of the city lights tour for the group Unheilig. An independent tour through Germany followed in autumn 2012. In November, Staubkind also played with a classical orchestra in the Leipzig Gewandhaus . At the end of 2012 the third single was released, Nur ein Tag / Unendet sein , which included three live recordings of the performance in Berlin's Wuhlheide . In August 2012 guitarist Rico Meerheim left the band and was replaced by Martin Ukrasvan. In the spring of 2013, Staubkind played again as opening act for Unheilig on the continuation of the Lights of the City Tour - Last Stop . In April 2013 the band started an acoustic tour. This is where the live acoustic album Where we are at home was recorded, which was released in August of the same year and entered the German album charts at number 33.

In the summer of 2013, Staubkind played at the MDR benefit festival Together against the flood in Ferropolis and again at the M'era Luna Festival. In spring 2014 guitarist Martin Ukrasvan left the band and was replaced by Dirk Lüthge. On July 18, 2014, the fourth album Alles was ich bin was released with the digital pre-single Wunder , for which a music video was also released. At number eight, the album reached the band's highest entry in the German album charts. In the summer of 2014, the group again supported Unheilig on their Alles hat seine Zeit - Tour. This was followed by a tour of their own and the second single Was Forever Remains , as well as an accompanying music video. In November 2014, the band appeared in the RTL series Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten . In the spring of 2015, the Everything that I am tour continued. In the meantime Dirk Lüthge had left the band and was replaced as guitarist by Daniel Lindenblatt. In the summer of that year, Staubkind played on the REWE Family Tour . The band started their concert series Where we are at home in September and played with an acoustic line-up in Nuremberg , in the Jena planetarium and in the Christ Church in Bochum.

The year 2016 began, as 2015 ended with another acoustic set in the home port of Berlin. In April 2016, Staubkind played for the first time at the Frankfurt Music Fair . In the summer, there were festival appearances at the Landesturnfest Niedersachsen, the Travemünder Woche , the weekend at the Jade and other support appointments on the band's last tour, Unheilig. The end of the year was formed by two dates at the MDR Jump Christmas market tour and the farewell concert by the band Luxuslärm in Olpe.

The album Every single day was released on March 10th, 2017, this was preceded by the pre-release single The best is still ahead. A tour of Germany followed. In 2019 Louis Manke announced the separation of three band members.

style

The group's early work is attributed to Dark Rock . The group's first releases were mostly compared to genre artists like Zeraphine and the Dreadful Shadows . With the move to Out of Line, the group also changed their musical direction. More recent releases have shown a change in style, supposedly oriented towards Unheilig, towards pop-rock, with a tendency towards modern hits .
