Zeraphine is a band that was founded in 2000 by Sven Friedrich and Norman Selbig (both former members of Dreadful Shadows ).

history

The Zeraphine project, which emerged from Dreadful Shadows, was initially called "Helix", but had to be given up after it was found out that it was already being used by another band. Then the Hebrew word " Seraph " caught the eye, from whose plural "Seraphim" the current name "Zeraphine" arose. At the center of the project are Sven Friedrich and Norman Selbig, who are supported by the other three musicians who contribute their ideas and also present the live line-up. Her fifth album Whiteout was released on June 11, 2010.

In addition to his work as a Zeraphine frontman, the singer Sven Friedrich also dedicates himself to his future pop project Solar Fake and plays some live performances with his band Dreadful Shadows, which was reunited in 2011 .

style

Zeraphine's musical style is somewhere between dark rock and alternative rock ; Occasionally, electronic compositions are added to the pieces of music sung in English or German. The album Kalte Sonne , released in 2002, is sung entirely in German, while Traumaworld , released in 2003, is more alternative rock- heavy and sung almost entirely in English. In 2005 the album Blind Camera was released , which combines both musical styles and is a mixture of English and German songs. In 2006 the band released the album Still , which again contains a mixture of German and English-language songs and is a bit heavier compared to the three older albums. In June 2007, Years in Black, the band's first best-of album, was released. After a three-year hiatus, the band released their fifth studio album Whiteout in 2010 , which is a little heavier than the previous album and contains mostly English-language songs.
