Sequoia Magic Loop, Screamin Squirrel
The saxophone here consists of two tight curves that are driven through vertically. At first, the car tilts forward until it is "upside down". With his head down he now drives a little straight ahead. The second vertical curve brings the cart back to the upright position. In principle, it has a larger radius than the first. In order not to let the eight carriages, each for four people in two rows, get too fast when changing orientation, they are braked in the curves. The elements are arranged in such a way that each of the following is offset backwards a little. The passengers thus always have a clear view of the ground in the curves that they turn upside down.
The passengers are held in the car by a combination of a lap and shoulder bar. On the way out and into the station, the cars each drive through a 180 ° curve. However, this ride does not take place on the running wheels fixed in the middle under the car for the actual roller coaster ride, but on additional rollers that run on another rail system and are attached to the side of the car. After the right-hand bend, the wagons are transported on the steep lift hill by chain hoist to a height of 30 meters. After a short descent, the car rolls towards the first saxophone (overhead element). It goes upside down until the next turnaround. This sequence happens three times in total. After the final brake, there is another right turn to the station.
Sequoia Magic Loop
Due to the compact design of only 45 × 15 meters, Sequoia Magic Loop could be completely accommodated in the free area between the loops and corkscrews of the Magic Mountain roller coaster . According to its name Sequoia (English for sequoia ) and to match the adjoining whitewater run with log boats, the run and its surroundings are designed in a lumberjack or sawmill theme. To the entrance, visitors walk through a large artificial tree stump, next to which there is still a piece of the tree that appears to have been felled. Various saws and axes can be seen in the area around the railway, and the front of the wagons are also decorated with artificial wood and axes.
On April 8, 2017, a short circuit caused the railroad to suddenly fail. Some passengers got stuck at a height of over twenty meters and had to be evacuated. On June 20, 2017, the attraction was closed for an indefinite period of time. As of March 2018, the attraction was no longer on the park's official website.
Afterburner
The saxophone consists of two tight curves that are driven horizontally, but in contrast to Sequoia Adventure and Screamin Squirrel, one after the other. Both have an angle of approx. 140 ° in the opposite direction so that the carriage moves horizontally again after the element. Since the angles are significantly smaller than 180 °, there is no real overhead travel.
A slightly sloping 180 ° right-hand bend leads from the station to the steep lift hill, which brings the cars to a height of 46 m. This is followed by the first saxophone, which includes a short vertical ride. This is followed by a 180 ° right-hand bend, a straight line and another 180 ° right-hand bend that ends in the second saxophone. A 180 ° right-hand bend leads the cars back to the station.
