Screenguide (in its own spelling SCREENGUIDE ), formerly Web standards magazine , was a trade journal on topics from social media , web development , interface design , usability , accessibility , web applications and e-commerce as well as current developments in the areas mentioned. The magazine appeared quarterly with a print run of approx. 10,000 copies (as of November 2012) and was mainly distributed through station bookshops and by subscription . In addition to the print edition, there was also an app for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Editor was to issue 19 the Screen Guide Publishing GmbH , in October 2013, the magazine of the WEKA MEDIA PUBLISHING GmbH laid. In September 2018, the subscribers were informed that the magazine will be discontinued "for economic reasons" with immediate effect. The publication started at the beginning of 2009 and dealt with relevant topics from the webworking area from a professional point of view. The spectrum included techniques and trends in HTML , CSS , JavaScript as well as PHP and MySQL . Another focus was on design topics and trends as well as various tools such as Adobe Flash , Flex and Air . Furthermore, topics such as rapid prototyping and frameworks as well as application development and content management systems were dealt with.

A special feature of the magazine was the close networking with Twitter for the news area and as a " seismograph " for trends and developments. Each issue of the magazine was at least 100 pages long.
