Scutum
Scutum means:
- Scutum (protective weapon) , type of shield used by the Roman legionaries

- in some arthropods a sclerite plate of their exoskeleton :

- in arachnids, e.g. B. ticks, the scutum (ticks)
- in crustaceans, e.g. B. barnacles a plate adjoining the tergum.
