The Scythian Nunatak ( English for Scythian Nunatak ) is an isolated and mountain ridge-like nunatak in East Antarctica Victoria Land . In the Allan Hills, it rises southeast of the Trudge Valley .

It was explored in 1964 by a team working in the Allan Hills as part of the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program . It is named after the ancient people of the Scythians , whose homeland, according to ancient Roman portrayals, was characterized by snow drifts , as can also be found on this Nunatak.
