Eva Svensson (born May 27, 1987 in Danderyd ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Svensson, who started for IFK Mora SK , ran in Skellefteå for the first time in the Scandinavian Cup in January 2006 and finished 24th over 10 km freestyle and 22nd place over 10 km classic. At the Junior World Ski Championships in 2006 in Kranj , she achieved 20th place over 5 km classic. The following year she won the silver medal with the relay at the Junior World Ski Championships in Tarvisio . She had her debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in Stockholm in March 2007 , which she finished in 46th place in the sprint. At the U23 World Championships in 2008 in Mals , she achieved 34th place over 10 km classic, 32nd place in the 15 km mass start race and 19th place in the sprint. In the 2009/10 season she came in the Scandinavian Cup eight times in the top ten. She took her first victory in the Scandinavian Cup in Jõulumäe in the 10 km handicap race and took second place in the sprint in Vuokatti , Lygna and Sigulda . She achieved third place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup. In March 2010 she got her first and only World Cup point with 30th place in the sprint in Stockholm. At the 2010 World Cup final in Falun , she came in 38th place. In the 2011/12 season, she finished fifth in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup with three fourth places and a classic 10 km win in Albu . She completed her 14th and last World Cup race in March 2012 in Lahti , which she finished in 48th place in the sprint. She won the Swedish championships in 2011 together with Anna Haag in the team sprint and in 2009 and 2011 with the relay of IFK Mora SK together with Sofia Bleckur and Anna Haag.
