Sea World is a marine theme park on the Gold Coast in the Australian state of Queensland . It contains various ride attractions as well as animal exhibitions.

The park was founded by Keith Williams as Surfers Paradise Ski Gardens in 1958. In 1971 the park was relocated to Southport Spit . The park has been called Sea World since 1972 .

Sea World has various shows with dolphins and sea ​​lions . There are also several polar bears. In 2004, was Shark Bay a lifelike replica of a lagoon that allows viewers opened sharks both below and to watch over the water.

In addition to many other aquariums with penguins , pelicans , etc., the park also offers a few rides, carousels, 3D and 4D shows. In 1986, the first monorail in Australia was put into operation in this park . It connects the park with the Sea World Nara Resort over a two-kilometer stretch .
