Searing Meadow is a Finnish melodic death metal band from Turku that was formed in 1999.
history
The band was founded in the summer of 1999 by friends Mika Ikonen (electric guitar, vocals) and Ville Pekkala (electric guitar). After a few months they came across bassist Ville Korhonen, who joined the band. In the summer of 2000 the line-up was supplemented by the drummer Antti Hakkala. In October 2000 the demo Slowly Creeping was recorded, which contains three songs. The second demo followed in November 2001 under the name Once Adored , before the third demo, Enduring Enchantment , appeared in November of the following year . In early 2004 the band signed a record deal with the Finnish label Rising Realm Records . In March / April, the debut album Corroding from Inside was recorded with producer Kari Nieminen at Musamuusa Studios . The album was released in Europe in July 2005 . In the US , the album was released in March via Crash Music . In December 2004, the line-up was expanded by the third guitarist Sasu Haapanen, so Ikonen concentrated a little more on the vocals. Since Korhonen had to leave the cast for professional reasons, Miska Lehtivuori from Fall of the Leafe joined in as a replacement in June 2005 . In February 2007, two new songs were recorded at Noise Camp Studios , which formed the Demo Promo 2007 . The band has been on pause since 2014.
style
According to Murat Batmaz from seaoftranquility.org , Corroding from Inside offers melodic, straightforward Death Metal . The group has also been compared to Amorphis more often in reviews . The music is driven by repetitive riffs , with vocals that are easily growled . Icons try to sound variable, but the result is still too one-dimensional. He sounds like something like Taneli Jarva from Sentenced in the mid-1990s. Deadtide.com's K. Huckins also reviewed the album, comparing it to Amorphis's Elegy . The publication did not come close to the aforementioned sound carrier, however, because the members did not lack the technical ability to play, but the music could hardly arouse emotions.
