Sebastian Eder

Sebastian Eder (born July 12, 1955 in Hochfilzen ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and doctor. Eder was a member of the National Council from 2006 to 2008 .

Life

After attending the primary school in Hochfilzen and the grammar school in St. Johann in Tirol , Eder studied medicine at the University of Innsbruck between 1973 and 1981 . 1981 Eder did his military service. Between 1979 and 1982 Eder worked as a regular doctor at the Wels Hospital and at the Schwarzach Hospital, and from 1982 to 1983 he worked as an assistant doctor in the Rehab Center in Saalfelden. Eder has worked as a general practitioner in Fieberbrunn since 1983 and was a contract doctor for the Austrian Armed Forces between 1989 and 2006. After leaving the National Council, Eder announced that he did not want to reopen his medical practice and instead would return to military service. In addition, Eder was elected chairman of the “Forum Land” in November 2008.

Eder has been a member of Hochfilzen's municipal council since 1992 and was a member of the municipal council from 1998 to 2004. In 2004 he took over the office of mayor. On October 1, 2006, he was elected to the Austrian National Council, to which he was a member from October 30, 2006 to October 27, 2008, with a total of 6409 preferential votes to represent the districts of Kufstein and Kitzbühel .
