Sebastian Schneider (theologian)

Sebastian Schneider (born October 15, 1963 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German Catholic theologian .

Life

After graduating from high school, he studied philosophy and theology at the Institut Catholique de Paris and at the PTH Sankt Georgen from 1983 to 1988 , where he obtained a diploma in Catholic theology in 1988. He completed his doctoral studies (1988–1994) with Norbert Baumert SJ at the PTH Sankt Georgen in 1994 with a doctorate in theology. The DFG sponsored him from 1995 to 1997 with a habilitation grant. From 1997 to 1999 he was pastoral assistant in the parish of St. Bonifatius, Hofheim am Taunus . Since 1999 he has been pastoral consultant in the parish of St. Martinus, Hattersheim . Since 1999 he has been a religion teacher at the Heinrich Böll School in Hattersheim. The PTH Vallendar qualified him as a professor in 2002 and awarded him the venia legendi . From 2002 to 2009 he was a private lecturer there for the subjects Introduction AT and Introduction NT, Exegesis NT. In October 2009 he was appointed honorary professor for the subjects Biblical Introduction and Exegesis NT.
