Sebastian Wimmer , also Westel Wimmer , (born January 5, 1902 in Dingolfing ; † unknown) was a German police officer , SS-Hauptsturmführer and first protective custody camp leader in the Majdanek concentration camp .

Life

Sebastian Wimmer worked for the Munich police from March 1923 to the end of February 1935, most recently with the rank of chief sergeant . In March 1935 he became a member of the SS (membership number 264.374) and at the same time an SS officer of the SS-Totenkopfstandarte "Upper Bavaria" stationed at the Dachau concentration camp . From autumn 1939 he was transferred to the 3rd SS Panzer Division "Totenkopf" , then from the end of January 1942 to the beginning of September 1942 to the 2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich" , and then again to the 3rd SS Panzer Division. Division "Totenkopf".

From late September 1942 to mid-February 1943, Wimmer was the head of the protective custody camp in the Majdanek concentration camp. From March 1943 to the beginning of October 1944, Wimmer was deputy protective custody camp leader in the Dachau concentration camp and also head of the Dachau external command at Itter Castle , where prominent prisoners were housed. Nothing is known about his further life.
