The Seckendorff Palace is located in Altenburg in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia .

history

The Seckendorff Palace , built in 1724, has been magnificently restored . It was the Field Marshal General Count Friedrich Heinrich von Seckendorff who had it built. He had his inherited country estate at Meuselwitz Castle not far from Altenburg, which he had expanded into a four-wing complex.

architecture

A curved balcony protrudes above the main portal . Above is the central window with the builder's name tag. Noteworthy is the from the pediment Rochlitz porphyry -made relief . It uses the military symbols to refer to the rank of builder. The eagle above the count's crown indicates the title of imperial count .

Most famous resident

It was the publisher and bookseller Friedrich Arnold Brockhaus .
