Secundus von Asti († 119 in Asti ) was an early Christian martyr and saint .

According to legendary tradition, Secundus was a patrician and officer from Asti in Piedmont . He was baptized in Milan . He is said to have buried the bishop of Tortona , Martianus , who is himself considered a student of Barnabas , after his martyrdom. Secundus then fled from his persecutors from Tortona to Asti, where he was captured and tortured when he wanted to visit St. Calocerus . Finally he was beheaded there.

Asti worships Secundus as his city saint, his relics are said to be in the Basilica of San Secondo in Asti. The feast day of the saint is March 29th and in Asti the translation of the relics is celebrated on June 1st.
