The Seda at Daksti

The Seda ( Estonian : Säde jõgi ; German: Sedde ) is a river in Latvia .

The Seda rises in the west of the border town of Valka (Latvian part of the town Walk) near the border with Estonia , flows around this town in the south and flows further west through an extensive moorland, for the exploitation of which the urban settlement Seda was created in the 1950s . After a run of 62 km it flows into the Burtnieker See . The outflow of this 40 km² large body of water forms the Salaca (Salis), which flows into the Riga Bay of the Baltic Sea at Salacgrīva .

The catchment area is 543.9 km².
