Seedorf FR

Seedorf is a hamlet in the municipality of Prez FR in the Swiss canton of Friborg . Until 2019 it was part of the municipality of Noréaz FR . It is located on the lake of the same name, Lac de Seedorf . The hamlet was first mentioned in 1143 as Sedors .

Traces of Mesolithic and Neolithic settlements have been found on the shore of the lake . During the Middle Ages, Montagny ruled the hamlet. The armed forces of Freiburg burned Seedorf in 1448.

There is a Saint-Nicolas chapel and a castle in the hamlet .
