Seehaus e. V. is a non-profit association based in Leonberg ( Baden-Württemberg ). He works in the fields of youth welfare, crime prevention, victim support and refugee aid. It was founded in 2001.
Purpose of the association
The purpose of the association is to help delinquents, former prisoners, victims of crime, their families and everyone who is confronted with crime, preventive work with children, as well as youth welfare, focusing on delinquent and endangered youth and young adults.
Work areas
The association was founded under the name Prisma eV at the time in order to develop an alternative to the conventional youth penal system. Seehaus has been running Seehaus Leonberg as a youth penal system in free forms since 2003 . In 2011 the Seehaus Störmthal followed as the second free-form youth penal facility. Since it was founded, the association has expanded its areas of activity in the areas of criminal assistance, victim assistance, prevention and refugee assistance.
Juvenile detention in free forms
In the Seehaus Leonberg and Seehaus Leipzig, juvenile detention is carried out in free forms . Young men can apply from prison. Up to seven participants each live with an employee family. You take part in a strict working day from 5:45 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The young men can complete a school leaving certificate and the first year of apprenticeship in various professions and are prepared for a life in freedom.
Offender assistance
The Seehaus association offers victim empathy training, social training courses, leisure groups and aftercare in various prisons.
Victim support and trauma counseling
Victims of crime can find support in dealing with the consequences of the crime at the victim counseling centers. There are also trauma counseling centers where people who have been through trauma can find help.
Restorative Justice
The Seehaus association is committed to restorative justice . Restorative justice is about having those directly involved in a criminal offense talk to a mediator and look for solutions together. The victim's perspective and reparation should move into the center of the criminal proceedings and be taken into account. In the program victim and perpetrator in conversation , victims and perpetrators, who are not directly connected, come together for talks and talk about the consequences of the crime, repentance, reparation, healing and reconciliation.
Prevention and Assertion
With the Protactics developed by Michael Stahl, children and young people can take part in a self-assertion program.
Forest and animal kindergarten
In the forest and animal kindergarten, nature and animal education are combined.
