Seemannskirchen is a district of the municipality of Mamming in the Lower Bavarian district of Dingolfing-Landau .

location

Seemannskirchen is located about three kilometers southwest of Mamming on the edge of the Isar-Inn hill country high above the Isar valley .

history

The place was formerly called Ellembrechteskirchen and belonged to the Count of Ortenburg in the 15th century . From 1525 the count's goods were placed under compulsory state administration by the keeper of Dingolfing . When the community was formed, Seemannskirchen became part of the Mamming community in the Dingolfing district court . In 1925, Seemannskirchen consisted of only two farms. In 1961 and 1987 it had nine inhabitants each, on January 2, 2015 there were 19 inhabitants.

Attractions

  • Filial church of St. Laurentius. The small, late Romanesque building probably dates from the 13th century and stands on a castle stable. The choir arch and windows were changed in baroque style in 1734. The inside contains a statue of St. Laurentius around 1480 and an Immaculata from the 18th century. On the north wall is a baroque cross, including a pieta around 1500. During the renovation between 1997 and 1999, the high altar in the church was also put up again.
