Tour de Chavagnac

The Tour de Chavagnac in Chavagnac , a place in the French commune of Les Coteaux Périgourdins in the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was originally built in the 12th century. The former fortified tower has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1947 .

The tower was part of a castle that was looted in 1569 and set on fire before the revolution . The donjon is the only remnant of the former fortified complex. The 25 meter high multi-storey building has several stone cross -storey windows and a lavatory .
