Regielnica ( German  rules sitting , 1938 to 1945 Regelhof ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Ełk ( rural community Lyck ) in the powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ).

Geographical location

Regielnica is located on the north bank of the Groß Regelner See ( Jezioro Regielskie in Polish ) in the south-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , seven kilometers south-east of the district town of Ełk (Lyck) .

history

The manor village of Regielnica, which later gained national importance due to its brickworks , was founded in 154. In 1874 the town to the recently completed came District Selment based in small Mrosen ( Polish Mrozy Małe ), which - in 1938 renamed - the "District Schönhorst (Ostpr.)" Circle Elk in Administrative district Gumbinnen : (from 1905 Region of Olsztyn in) Prussian Province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910 the manor district Regelitzen had 127 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928, Regelitzen gave up its independence and was incorporated into the neighboring community of Groß Mrosen (1929 to 1938 Mrossen , 1938 to 1945 Schönhorst (East Pr.) , Polish Mrozy Wielkie ). On June 3 (officially confirmed on July 16) of the year 1938, the village was renamed “Regelhof” in order to avoid the foreign-sounding old place names for political and ideological reasons.

As a result of the war, the village came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and since then has borne the Polish form of name "Regielnica". The place is today the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and thus a place in the association of Gmina Ełk (rural municipality Lyck ) in powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Roman Catholic

Before 1945 there were very few Catholics in Regelitzen / Regelhof. They were parish in the Roman Catholic Church of St. Adalbert Lyck in the Diocese of Warmia . Since 1994 Regielnica has its own parish, the church of which is dedicated to St. Joseph (" Kościół św. Józefa Oblubieńca Najświętszej Maryi Panny ") . The parish belongs to the deanery Ełk-Matki Bożej Fatimskiej in the diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . A branch chapel is in Regiel .

The parish Regielnica includes the following places: Kałęczyny ( German  Kallenczynnen , 1938 to 1945 Lenzendorf ), Koziki (Kozycken , 1935 to 1945 Selmenthöhe) , Regiel (rules) , Regielnica and Sordachy (Sordachen , 1938 to 1945 Sorden) .

Regielnica is located on a side road that leads from Ełk through the Szyba district (Sybba , 1938 to 1945 Walden) to Tama to road 61 in the Podlaskie Voivodeship . In addition, a street coming from Sordachy (Sodarchen , 1938 to 1945 Sorden) ends in Regielnica.

The village is a train station on the Ełk – Turowo ( German  Lyck – Thurowen / Auersberg ) railway of the former Lycker Kleinbahnen , which is now used by the Ełcka Kolej Wąskotorowa as a historical narrow-gauge railway for tourist traffic.
