Konieczki ( German Elisenthal ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Ełk ( rural municipality Lyck ) in the powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ).
Geographical location
Konieczki is located in the east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, three kilometers north of the district town of Ełk (Lyck) .
history
Today's village Konieczki was called Konietzko until June 17, 1885 Abbau Konietzko and was then renamed Elisenthal . It was a manor and until 1945 integrated into the municipality (from 1934: city) Lyck ( Polish Ełk ).
As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 along with the whole of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name "Konieczki". Today it is independent and is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and thus belongs to the association of Gmina Ełk (rural municipality Lyck ) in powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
The village is Konieczki same name to the south, with three kilometers District Konieczki the city of Elk (Lyck) . Apart from the name, no historical connections can be established.
Religions
Until 1945 Elisenthal was parish in the Evangelical Parish Church of Lyck in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of St. Adalbert in Lyck in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Konieczki belongs to the Catholic Church "NMP Królowej Apostołów" in Ełk-Pólnoc II within the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant church members orientate themselves to the parish in Ełk, a branch parish of the parish in Pisz ( German Johannisburg ) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
traffic
Konieczki is located on the important Polish state road 65 (former German Reichsstrasse 132 ) which connects the two Voivodships Warmia-Masuria and Podlasie and runs from the Polish-Russian state border to the Polish-Belarusian border.
The nearest train station is the town of Ełk on the Korsze – Białystok and Ełk – Olecko railway lines , the latter only being used sporadically by freight.
