Bobry ( German  Bobern (northern part) ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Ełk ( rural community Lyck ) in the powiat Ełcki ( Lyck district ).

Geographical location

Bobry is located in the south-east of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 9.5 kilometers south of the district town of Ełk (Lyck) .

history

Bobry in Gmina Ełk is the northern part of the village with the German name Bobern , which was connected before 1945 , the southern part of which is today in the Gmina Prostki (rural community Prostken ) and as Bobry (Prostki) with Bobry (Ełk) in just 600 meters away its history is identical. The date of the separation of the two parts after 1945 is not documented.

Today, Bobry is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ), which also includes the neighboring town of Zdunki (Sdunken , 1938–1945 Ulrichsfelde) , and thus a village in the Gmina Ełk association .

Religions

Bobry ecclesiastically belongs to Bobry in the Gmina Prostki. There is a Catholic parish there , which is subordinate to the parish in Nowa Wieś Ełcka ( German  Neuendorf ) and belongs to the diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .

Protestant church members living here support the parish in the town of Ełk , a subsidiary of the parish in Pisz (German Johannisburg ) in the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Bobry lies west of the state road 65 and can be reached from Zdunki (Sdunken , 1938–1945 Ulrichsfelde ). There is no train connection.
