Sea shipping route
In Germany, waterways are referred to as maritime shipping routes , on which the Maritime Shipping Route Regulations (SeeSchStrO) apply.
This includes the following areas of water:
- the water areas between the coastline at medium high tide or the seaward boundary of the inland waterways and a line three nautical miles away from the baseline ,

Traffic rules

Right of way

Bottlenecks
At fairways that are too narrow for two vehicles to pass through at the same time, the right of way is regulated as follows:

- In tide-free waters without a current, the vessel that has to use the starboard side of the fairway has right of way .
Driving license required
