Seeta Qasemy

Seeta Qasemie ( Persian سيتا قاسمى; * April 6, 1982 near Kabul , Afghanistan ), is an Afghan singer and composer who lives in Germany. She sings ballads and pop songs.

Life

Qasemie was born in Afghanistan in a village near Kabul. At the age of 15 she came to Germany with her husband, who is much older than her. Whereupon her parents, her two brothers and four sisters followed her to Germany. The couple had two children in Germany. After a few years she separated from her husband. She made the acquaintance of singer Valy Hedjasi , who offered her to record an album with her. Seeta Qasemie took this chance and composed songs like "Delbareh Mehraban" and "Bia tu" for Valy. But Valy produced the pieces without mentioning Seeta Qasemie in any context.

In addition to Valy, she sang duets with Aris Parwiz and Bashir Hamdard . In 2010 she sang the duet Meena with Shafiq Murid, for which the two received the award in the category Best Duet at the 1st Annual Award Ceremony of Ariana Afghanistan TV in 2012 . Seeta Qasemie appeared twice in the DiDAR SHOW .

Seeta Qasemie speaks other languages besides Dari and Pashto . In Pashto she sings duets with Shafiq Murid. She enriches her songs with Indian singing, for example in her own composition Mastam Mast . The themes of her songs are mainly love and grief .
