The Sega Mega Jet was a handheld version of the Sega Mega Drive that was produced from 1988, but had no screen and was dependent on a power connection. The device was mainly used in aircraft operated by Japan Airlines because the device could be connected to the screens in the backrests. Four games were available during the flight, including Super Monaco GP and Sonic the Hedgehog .
The Sega Nomad marketed in the USA was similar in terms of hardware design , but it also has a built-in screen.
