The Sehnem Point ( English , Portuguese Pontal Sehnem ; Chinese 牛角 半岛 Niujiao Bandao , German ' Horn Peninsula ' ; Spanish Punta Brigadier Escobar ) is a headland in the northwest of the Fildes Peninsula of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It consists of sharp-edged cliffs and marks the south side of the entrance to Bothy Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 2004 transferred a designation of Brazilian scientists from 1984 into English. Chinese scholars named them descriptively in 1986. The naming in Spanish was done by Chilean scientists. Neither the namesake of the Brazilian nor that of the Chilean name have survived.
