Seichbergloch

The Seichbergloch is the deepest karst cave in the Churfirsten and Alvier ranges in the canton of St. Gallen .

The cave is located on the northern flank of the Gamserrugg , and the cave entrance is in a small sinkhole in the middle of the Wildhaus ski area .

The cave is of great morphological interest. It runs along the border of Seewerkalk / Garschella layers to a depth of over 550 m. Research is still going on in the Seichbergloch. The research is coordinated by the Eastern Swiss Society for Speleology.

The cave has a measured length of 2,180 m and leads to a depth of 559 m.
