Seidnaly Sidhamed (born June 1, 1957 in Timbuktu ; stage name: Alphadi ) is a Nigerien fashion designer .

Seidnaly Sidhamed grew up in Niger. He studied tourism in Paris and took evening classes at the Parisian fashion school Atelier Chardon Savard. After completing his studies, Sidhamed initially worked in a leading position for the Nigerien Ministry of Tourism in Niamey . In 1985 he had his international breakthrough as a fashion designer at a fashion show in Paris under the stage name Alphadi.

Services

Alphadi's fashion style combines the traditions of the Nigerien ethnic groups Songhai , Zarma , Fulbe , Hausa and Tuareg with European influences. In 1998 Alphadi founded the African fashion festival Festival International de la Mode en Afrique (FIMA) in Niger . In 2001 he was awarded the French Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Mérite .
