Seiji Tada

Seiji Tada ( Japanese 多 田 誠 司 , Tada Seiji ; * 1960 ) is a Japanese jazz musician ( alto saxophone ).

Seiji Tada, who has been active in the Japanese jazz scene since the 1980s, first played with Hiroshi Murata & the Bop Band ( The Blues Walk ), then with Masahiko Osaka and the Tomonao Hara Quintet ( Dawn Breaks , 1992). In 1994 he recorded the jazz classic " Georgia on My Mind " in a duo with pianist Sir Charles Thompson . In the following years he worked a. a. with the singer Chiaki Ogasawara , the Japan Just Jazz All Stars and with the big bands of Yoshihiko Katori and Kenichi Tsunoda ; In 1999 he performed with Bobby Watson & Tailor Made (with the Tokyo Leaders Big Band ). In the 2000s he was a member of the Terumasa Hino Quintet and the formation Kojikanatsuru 3 ; He also led his own quartet ( The Gig: Jazz Workshop Presents Seiji Tada Quartet , 1997), with Yoshiro Okazaki (trumpet), Shigeo Aramaki (double bass) and Dairiki Hara (drums). In the field of jazz, Tom Lord lists him in eleven recording sessions between 1993 and 2008. Tada teaches at the Tokyo Jazz School .
