Hòn Thơm cable car

The Hòn Thơm cable car ( Vietnamese : Cáp treo Hòn Thơm ) is a gondola lift ( 3S cable car ) that connects the holiday islands of Phú Quốc and Hòn Thơm in the Gulf of Thailand (Gulf of Siam) in Vietnam . There are various extensive tourist facilities on both islands.

The Hòn Thơm tricable gondola is currently (2018) the longest ropeway of its type for passenger transport and the longest cable car in just one section.

The foundation stone for the construction of the cable car facility was laid on September 4, 2015 in the presence of the Vietnamese Prime Minister, Nguyễn Tấn Dũng . The cable car opened on February 4, 2018. The highest cable car pillar (number 4) reaches 164 meters. The cable car cabins are supplied with electrical energy via roller generators .
