history

The members of the brotherhood Apostles of Ignominy Eklezjas'tik BerZerK, Shamaanik B., Messiatanik Armrek and Fredrik Bolzann alias Crüxvheryn K founded Sektarism in 2005 as the mouthpiece of a substantive facet of the sect. In addition to the black metal band Malhkebre , the band members were looking for another way of expressing their ideals. Eklezjas'tik BerZerK sees the content as "community, shared suffering, a sectarian way of creating art and entering into a spiritual ecstasy with the Almighty."

According to Eklezjas'tik BerZerK, the band was founded in a smoky basement during a ceremony. Since its inception, the band has recorded several EPs and one album in spiritual jam sessions . The musicians refer to their performances as ceremonies. So far, the band has mostly performed in France, but has also played in Germany, Belgium and Estonia.

According to Eklezjas'tik BerZerK, the often used MC format and the strict limitations of some of the released records to 99 copies reflect the concerns of the band and serve as a big “fuck off” to Sony , which stopped producing the cassette-based Walkman in 2010. On the other hand, the band has their products distributed commercially by Aesthetic Death Records in Great Britain, Season of Mist in France, Daemon Worship Productions in North America and Necrocosm for the rest of the world.

The members of the Brotherhood Apostles of Ignominy founded Sektarism to spread the Brotherhood's "message". The group sees itself as a sect based on a spiritual exchange between the members. The members are concerned with the thoughts and exchanges of the members with regard to a spiritual questioning of the everyday world. As a basic idea, Eklezjas'tik BerZerK describes the belief that salvation can only be achieved through self-humiliation and suffering. In this context he compares sectarism with monks who scourge themselves during funeral processions, but without pursuing an idea of ​​Christian salvation. The apostles came to know that humans are nothing but beings of flesh and bone, that the end of humans is inevitable.
