The Selçuk Üniversitesi ( German Seljuk University ) is a state university in the Turkish city of Konya . It bears the name of the Turkish princely dynasty of the Seljuks . The university was founded in 1975 and began teaching in 1976 with two faculties and 327 students, the founding rector was Ali Rıza Çetin.
In 2015 the university had 23 faculties. Since December 26, 2011, Hakkı Gökbel has been the successor of Süleyman Okudan as rector of the university, which today has three locations in the center of Konya and one in Karaman .
