Sello (shopping center)

Sello ( Finnish for cello ) is a shopping center in the Leppävaara district of Espoo ( Finland ). The mall includes more than 170 stores and services as well as a concert hall , library and hotel.
history
The Sello was built in three construction phases: The oldest part was completed in 2002, then further sections followed in 2005 and 2008. The oldest part of Sello has two supermarkets , three banks, includes the main Espoos library, a concert hall, a fitness studio, Restaurants and cafes, a pharmacy, an Alko branch and a music academy. The second part of the mall has many restaurants and small shops and several sports shops, such as Intersport and Stadium. Sello's third and newest part was constructed for a cinema, several restaurants and a bowling alley.
Rampage
On December 31, 2009, a shooting occurred in Sello at 10:08 am local time (08:08 UTC ). According to a police spokesman, four people died. The shopping center was evacuated and the train service at the nearby Leppävaara station was suspended. Sometime later, a fifth victim was found in an Espoo apartment who was identified as the suspect's ex-girlfriend. The alleged shooter, a 43-year-old Kosovar Albanian, was found dead in an apartment, killing six people. In a press conference at 2:30 p.m. local time (12:30 UTC), police confirmed that the suspect had been identified. The suspect was already known to the police and had a criminal record for firearms offenses and assault. In addition, there was a preliminary injunction that forbade the perpetrator from contact with his ex-girlfriend. In a police report dated May 26, 2010, the motive for the crime was morbid jealousy.
