Semba is a couple dance and style of music that originated in Angola and was introduced into Brazilian music by the slaves . It is believed that the Brazilian name Samba goes back to Semba .

In Angola, the dance and music style Kizomba emerged from Semba .

The most famous contemporary Semba musician in Angola is Bonga Kuenda , other musicians are Paulo Flores , Carlos Vieira Dias , Carlos Burity and the Banda Maravilha .
