Semestra is a Swiss student portal that specializes in job search. The website was founded by Campus Lab AG. It has been operated by jobchannel ag in Thalwil since January 2020 .
history
The website was launched in 2001 under the domain www.studisurf.ch by Marc Isler, Fabian Gressly and Patrick Mollet. The website was originally intended as a metaportal for students and linked to existing offers from universities and technical colleges . The site has been expanded with its own news and services for students. Semestra became known through campaigns such as the search for the “student flat share of the year” in the format of a casting show .
After almost 20 years of existence, the platform was taken over by jobchannel ag on January 1, 2020.
