The Sempione Retail AG is a Swiss public company whose main activity consists in the shares of Charles Vögele Holding to keep. The corporate management of Charles Vögele Holding was transferred to OVS .

On October 19, 2016, Sempione Retail AG published its public purchase offer for Charles Vögele Holding AG, which was fulfilled by December 12, 2016.

After the takeover, a large part of the 284 stores with around 2000 employees in Germany were sold to the companies TEDi , Woolworth Germany and KiK . They will be switched to the brands of the new owners. The branches in Austria , Hungary and Slovenia will continue to operate. The properties owned by Charles Vögele Holding AG are to be sold for CHF 165 million .

The logistics company XPO Logistics was awarded the contract for delivery logistics and replaces the previous in-house logistics in Switzerland. The listing of Charles Vögele Holding on the Swiss stock exchange was withdrawn by Sempione Retail AG in April 2017. Unia is fighting for a uniform social plan for the dismissed employees .

Ownership structure

The Italian fashion group OVS holds 35 percent of Sempione Retail AG , Aspen Trust Services Limited as trustee of the Elarof Trust 20.5 percent and Retails Investment SRL 44.5 percent. OVS has a purchase option on the 44.5 percent stake in Retails Investment , which can be used in 2019 at the earliest.
